A sliding gate motor drives a gear rack fixed along the gate. The two numbers that decide the model are the gate weight and how many times an hour it opens. We size with a 20% margin over the estimated weight: a motor working at its limit wears out fast in Gulf summer heat.

Residential gates up to 900 kg run on Trino, or Trino Izzy when the owner wants the AGL Home app and voice control. Busy compound gates need speed and duty cycle: DZ Brabus opens 3 m in 6.8 s and is rated up to 65 cycles an hour. Heavy yard and warehouse gates go on DZ Strong, with metal gearing and up to 120 cycles an hour at 2,000 kg.

What size sliding gate motor do I need?
Take the gate weight, add 20%, and pick the lightest AGL model rated above that figure that also covers how often the gate opens. A 5 m × 2 m light-steel villa gate is about 250 kg, which a Trino 300 or 500 covers; a 9 m steel yard gate of 1,200 kg needs a DZ Strong 1500.
Which sliding gate motor is best for a villa in Dubai?
For most villa gates up to 900 kg, the Trino Izzy: quiet, metal gearing from the 700 model up, and Wi-Fi control from the AGL Home app with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
How fast can a sliding gate open?
Standard Trino models open 3 m in about 12 s. Trino Speed does it in about 7 s, DZ Brabus in 6.8 s and the Trino Speed Turbo Pro in 3.9 s.
Do the motors come with remotes?
Yes. Every AGL operator ships with two 433 MHz remotes; extra remotes, photocells, racks and signal lights are quoted with the kit.
